Ever wonder why when you have nothing to do, like your job which pays the bills, you feel suddenly empty? Or worse yet, you feel unproductive and if you don’t do something quick you’ll go insane.
No, you never feel that way do you, cause your like normal people. When you take a day, or two, off from work you actually savor the down time. You, being normal, do things like just relax with the family or hang out with your golf buddies drinking a few and trying not to lose too many of your balls on the back nine. Yeah, your part of majority who shut down and shut off that side of your brain which is your work invested side.
What was that? what did you say?
Your not like normal people? You can’t take a day off from work because if you not doing something then YOUR NOT DOING SOMETHING and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Are you saying your one of the few, like me, who have to be told by the boss to take some days and get away from work and your desk?
Well then, welcome to the ever growing majority that is the ‘Army of Perpetual Production’! Welcome new members, drinks are to the left, sandwiches to the right, and a whole list of things you could get be doing at this very moment instead of reading this blog is plastered up on the billboard sized wall behind me. And Wow, that’s a long list!
You see, we here at the APP never take a break, never a day off, or even stop for lunch. We run constantly all day and at night when we look like we’re resting we’re not. Our minds are racing along at 90 MPH thinking of all the things we could be doing, should be doing, HAVE TO BE DOING because if we’re not then we are not being PRODUCTIVE!
I am a proud member of the APP, bound soul and mind to the mantra of always be hustling!
Though somedays, some weekends, I wish just a little I could relax and be not so productive, but then I shake of those thoughts as I come to a realization that resting is for the weak.
We are the APP! We will be PRODUCTIVE! Or we will be…non-productive I guess?
What do the young people call that these days, ‘slacking’?
